The concept behind the original SPL EQ Ranger hardware is to provide simple graphic EQs customized to work with specific instruments or vocals. Pros who are under the gun to quickly deliver professional results rely on EQ Rangers’ amazing-sounding passive filters accessed through a super-efficient interface.
These powerful tools are now available as an Analog Code plugin.
The SPL EQ Rangers plugin bundle includes Bass Ranger, Vox Ranger and Full Ranger. While Bass Ranger and Vox Ranger are specialized to process specific frequency ranges, the Full Ranger completes the bundle with a set of filter bands that covers the entire frequency range.
In contrast to static graphical EQs that use the same center frequencies in repeating octave distances, the Ranger EQ modules are much better suited to work with specific instruments and their unique frequency curves. After all, only different frequency ranges allow for effective instrument separation in a mix.
Aside from the musical advantages, the application specific EQ module also greatly expedites workflow. Based upon its exceptional sound quality, the Ranger EQ package represents a robust filter set with the perfect balance between versatility and efficiency.
The Analog Code®
During listening tests of this technology, a hardware developer remarked that SPL had “cracked the Analog Code!” and in the process, coined the name of SPL’s software product line.
SPL hardware products can be found in the world’s most renowned facilities, and have become a staple for audio professionals ranging from home studio owners to top mastering engineers. With the growth of computer based audio systems, the need for the SPL sound in plugin form has also grown. With Analog Code® plugins, that coveted SPL sound is now available right inside your DAW.
